Officially Broke

Well, my brother called and confirmed that my laptop hard drive died. *Sigh.* At least there’s a silver lining: he’ll be replacing the drive with one that’s twice as big (at least 300 gigs). I’m very thankful and fortunate to have a little bro who’s knowledgeable in all things computers. However, I’m still upset that I’ll have to edit my vacation pictures all over again. I was on a roll, and almost ready to post them.

Speaking of rolls, yesterday Hubs was out for a work dinner, so I spent the evening on my own. I bought a California roll at a local hole-in-the-wall restaurant to feed myself. Bleh. It was the most un-tasty California roll ever. The sushi was so hot, it burnt my tongue when I put it in my mouth. I don’t know if you’ve ever tasted a steaming piece of sushi before, but let me tell you, the combination of hot rice, mushy imitation crab, and soggy avocados is almost as bad as eating tuna with chocolate. Needless to say, I’m sticking to my regular joints for sushi.

Now, for the card-of-the-day, I made this one from inspiration I found in the current SU catalog. Hubs says the card doesn’t make sense. I say, what does he know about cards?:-)

Card recipe: Maya Road While You Were Out stamp, “hi” alphabet stamp from the $1 section at Michaels, PTI aqua mist and sweet blush card stock, SU designer paper in Haiku, SU old olive card stock, SU So Many Scallops stamp set, SU scallop punch, SU chocolate chip and real red inks, Making Memories mini clip, Fiskars Threading Water punch.

Have a great weekend, everyone!:-)

I like the card! :) And why is it that when one dines alone, the food ends up being weird?? My husband works nights now so my evenings are always pretty lonely; I’ve found things just taste better when they’re shared. :) Though I dunno about hot sushi haha!

When I started reading your post, I thought you meant hot as in wasabi-hot; I’ve never heard of hot sushi, as in temperature-hot, before. I like the card–the pink clip is a cute touch. I’m sorry about your dead hard drive (may it serve as a reminder to us all to backup our stuff). You have a great weekend, too!
