A No-Stamp Card

I am so glad it is Friday. It has been a very busy week, and I can’t wait to kick up my heels and relax. And by relax, I mean stamp, of course.:-)

Speaking of stamping, today’s card is a no-stamp card. Not a single piece of rubber was used in the making of this one. Nope. Just my trusty little Cuttlebug and my favorite SU kraft paper.

Card Recipe: Cuttlebug machine, Cuttlebug embossing folder, Nestabilities star dies, SU ribbon in real red, SU designer paper in Summer Picnic, SU kraft card stck, red button from Walmart, scrap piece of twine.

And of course, my belated responses to questions:

Zoe and Von asked about how to cut/wrap ribbon neatly around card fronts (like this example).

I basically cut the paper exactly to fit the front of the card. It’s pretty consistent, since all the cards are the same size (a half sheet of 8.5×11 paper), so the strips will either be 5.5″ in width, or 4.25″. If I use ribbon, I try to wrap it around a layer of paper before adhering it to the card (like this, so it looks like this from the front). If I make a card with no layers like the one i posted above, I cut a tiny slit in the spine of the card and stick the ribbon through it.

Karen asked, “Where did you get your custom Hand stamped by Kelly stamp?”

I got the stamp from Stampin’ Up! I even got a second one that says, “Hand stamped by The Sunset House” to use when I’m ready to sell my cards on Etsy.:-)

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!
