Hi Kelly, I have been following your blog for sometime but have never commented... BUT I just saw two things that you might like to add to your list here and felt I should share.

First thing is that I was told that Versamark watermark ink only works when the outside color of the paper is all the way through. SO, if the "pink" cardstock you are stamping on has a 'white' core, the Versamark won't leave the watermark effect you are expecting. {The inside needs to be the same color as the outside.}

Second, I always dilute my SUP! stamp cleaning solution in the spray bottle. When refilling is needed, I use 30% cleaner and 70% water AND I have never had a problem getting the stamps clean!

I have really been enjoying your posts and getting to know you, too!

Blessings, Nicole

Hi Kelly! I *love* your new blog! I was a big fan of your bee blogs but now that my wedding has just passed, I'm looking for something to fill my crafty void... and this is totally peeking my interest. You don't know how many times I've contemplated buying all the inks already because of your awesome card tutorials! Love the videos by the way.

I grew up in the sunset so I feel your foggy pain, but I loved it nonetheless... as long as the heater was on. :) And Seniore's pizza is always close by!!

Anyways, this is for Janis... you can rub a used dryer sheet or an anti-static pouch on the surface before you stamp it. It's a muslin bag filled with anti-static powder. It prevents the embossing powder from sticking to anything that hasn’t been stamped. I've seen them at Michael's in the embossing section.

Hey Kelly...I have a technique question. Whenever I emboss, I use a tinted stamp pad that comes out pinkish (I forgot the name) and then use colored powder. However, even after I tap all the excess powder I find a lot of strays lingering around. I try to get as much excess powder off by using a fine brush to brush them away, but I can never get a clean look. After I'm done embossing you can see that the specks are melted and this leaves a very dirty look. I asked Miss Fondue what products she used but she couldn't remember and I want to achieve her clean look: http://www.weddingbee.com/2008/10/21/how-to-emboss-2/#more-70396

Can you please tell me what I'm doing wrong?? Should I switch my technique and use a colored stamp pad and clear powder like she did? If so, what are good colored (and embossing) stamp pads? Thanks in advance, I'm sorry my post was so wordy!

@ Meaghan: I use a stamp scrub plus SU stamp mist cleaner to clean my stamp. I also have a bottle of Stamp-n-Stuff cleaner from Michaels that works fine too. To clean stamps, I spray water on my scrub pad, squirt stamp cleaner, then scrub my stamps and pat on a towel until they're clean. :-)

Hi Trish! The brilliance ink pad is a pigment pad, so unfortunately the watercolor technique won't work with it. The ink markers, I believe, are water based ink so you should be able to try watercoloring with them. Basically, you want to use anything that says "dye ink" or "water based" with the blender pen. Hope that helps!

hello there. i adore your blog and am appreciative of your shared ideas and tips!!! i'm wondering, i just ordered the aqua painter from stampin' up (i would have ordered from you but i'm from canada!) and i have the staz on ink pad. i also have a bunch of brilliance inkpads and a set of marvy uchida ink markers. do you think those inks can be used with the aqua painter for that watercolor effect?

thanks in advance :)

Kelly- Great post! I didn't know the difference between the inks until I started to use them. I have the craft ink pads from stampin up in the small cubes and they harder to use cause they don't dry fast enough. I'm planning to purchase the classic pads next but they sure are expensive!!

Oh cool. I have been waiting for this post because I haven't purchased the inks yet. I wanted your input first. You are going to hear me say Thank you ALOT....because I am truly Thankful. Can you also do a post on embossing samples? I've seen dry embossing done at my scrapbook meetings but I'd love to learn about other techniques as well. You are the BESTEST and have always been one of my favorite Bees!
