I got home from Chicago on Sunday. Brrrr, it was cold out there! Cold and gray. I barely saw sunlight for three days straight. Sunday morning, it even snowed a tiny bit. I don’t know how Midwest/east coast people handle it. I’m a wimpy Californian with thin skin. When we arrive in SFO airport, it was 70 degrees and sunny. How I missed the sun!
Despite the gray skies, I got to eat some really delicious food! Hubs and I tried a tapas place in Evanston, Tapas Barcelona. YUM. The food was exactly like several tapas restaurants I ate at in Barcelona over the summer. Very good! I also tried stuffed pizza at Giordanos. Yummy and very cheesy. Did you know that stuffed pizza is different than deep dish? I had no idea. My coworker educated me on this tip before I left for Chicago. Another Chicago staple I tried was Italian beef at Al’s. Italian beef reminds me of a cheesesteak sandwich, except without the cheese, with soggy bread dipped in beef juices, and with roast beef slices instead of steak (so, not really like a cheesesteak at all, I guess!). It was pretty good, though a little soggy for my taste.
Today’s card is similar to one that I posted a few weeks ago, but it’s a girlie version.
Enjoy!
