Christmas in January

I wasn’t lying when I said that I’d still be posting about holiday cards in January. :) Today I’m posting one that I made with my SU Big Shot. The great thing about Big Shot is that it’s compatible with dies from most brands of die cutters. Also, you can pick up Sizzix dies from your local Michael’s store. But, the best thing about the Big Shot is that certain lines of Sizzix dies (like the Originals, Bigz, and XL Bigz) can cut through materials other than paper, like felt and chipboard. For this card, I made a felt stocking using a Christmas die.

The die I used had three different holiday shapes: A stocking, ornament, and bulb.

The Sizzix machine works similarly to the Cuttlebug in sandwich layers. I think the smaller Sizzix dies are actually compatible with the Cuttlebug also, so you don’t have to buy a whole new machine if you like a certain Sizzix die. However, some of the larger Sizzix dies are too big to fit onto the Cuttlebug cutting platform.

Out pops a stocking!

I cut two stockings so that I could layer them.

And here’s the finished card.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

that is soooo adorable. how much is that SU Big Shot. It’s really tempting to get.

I think this is my favorite Christmas card that you’ve posted so far. (That title won’t last for long as I’m sure you’ll wow me again with your next card, lol) :D
