I Did It.

I did The Unthinkable. I joined Facebook. *Gasp.* The Hubs made me do it! He finally coerced convinced me and I set up an account over the weekend. I still have to finish setting up a profile and all that good stuff, but I suppose I can see the virtues of the site so far. I also see how it can get addictive, especially if someone happens to be particularly nosy. And, I guess it’s not as evil as I assumed. After all, everyone else is doing it… (I sound like I’ve been drinking the Kool-Aid already, don’t I?)

But, enough about Facebook, let’s talk crafts.:-)

Since Sale-A-Bration is ending in a few weeks (3/31), I thought I’d post some cute projects I made using some of the free stuff I got. On Sunday, I made a candy box using the Sizzix Top Note die and the Delicate Dots designer paper (the paper is one of the Sale-A-Bration products). I cut out the top and bottom covers using the Top Note die, then made a 3.5″ x 3″ box and taped the two covers on. The stamp set is called Trendy Trees and it’s in the current catty. I like this box because it can be used to hold all kinds of cute trinkets, from candy to jewelry. Fun!

Project Recipe (all supplies SU unless noted): Trendy Trees stamp set, card stock in sahara sand, bashful blue, whisper white ribbon, 1 3/4 circle punch, 1 1/2 circle punch (EK Success), ink in certainly celery, sahara sand, designer paper in Delicate Dots (Sale-A-Bration product), Top Note Sizzix die, stampin’ dimensionals

Those are really cute projects. I still plan on getting an order in by 3/1. And Facebook. It isn’t that evil, but it can be a time-suck. I’ve actually ignored my myspace for about a month now. Just make sure you have your privacy settings, set accordingly. Oh and by the way, I never said thank you… I checked out Geni.com, and loved it. I was the one to set up my family tree from scratch, and now all of my loved one’s are messaging one another. It’s a really great site!

That’s so cute! Now I really want to invest in the Big Shot. It’s nice to know you can use it for something other than cards! Did it take long to make?

Facebook is addicting! Luckily I can’t access it at work. :-)

That box is adorable! You must be constantly giving away cards and gifts to your nearest and dearest!

Haha, I also was coerced into Facebook — but find it’s a fun way to keep in touch with people I might not otherwise!

just make sure your privacy settings are set appropriately because it can be a sucker in time. the new layout is kind of annoying but it will take some adjustment to get use to. but for the most part, fb can be fun or a time waster!

love your blog. keep doing what you do! :)

Could you PLEASE make a template for this box? Or give me the measurements? I have been trying to find a box for my wedding favors, and this is the perfect size!

OK now how do I add you on facebook. hehehe

I haven’t done anything cute with the stamps I’ve purchased so far but I do intend to get something before sale-a-bration is over. I do love collecting crafting supplies. It’s almost sinful.

Love this box! I’ll need to look more into the sizzix machine as I have the original. But now since Sizzix came out with their power machine I’m debating.

Welcome to Facebook :)

Hi Kelly! I love the shape of the top note sizzix die. Do you know if they make a similar one for cuttlebug? Or if that one will work using my cuttlebug?
