Madrid, Take Two

This Friday, I’m wishing I was back in Europe. Here’s Madrid, continued!

Our hotel was conveniently located in Madrid’s center.  We walked through this bustling city shopping plaza every day.

Inside a cafe, I ordered a tasty cup of coffee and breakfast. Yum!

The Hubs wanted to play photographer, so I begrudgingly posed.

The architecture in Madrid is beautiful.

Views from our hotel. I kept the shutter open for 10 seconds on this one. And timed the shot with the green traffic lights.:)

In Spain, when one orders a tortilla, an omelette is served. Tasty.

Lots of cheap clothes on sale everywhere. Although, when we visited, the dollar was weak, so the clothes were not so inexpensive.

Last night in Madrid. The skies really looked like this every night.

Off to the train station to head towards Barcelona.

Hubs the tourist.

Our trusty Rick Steves guide took us everywhere.

The high speed trains.

All aboard! Next stop: Barcelona!

Kel, the more I see your pics, the more I think you’ll make an awesome pro photographer. And like I said before.. you can only get better as you learn more!

I <3 Rick Steves. I’ve been very close to pledging to KQED so that I would get his Europe through the back door bundle. Also, I’ve almost completed reading the 2006 version of the Paris tour book…just in case I ever go. :)

I love that you timed your photo of the city lights with the green lights, very nice. :)

Beautiful photos as always. I am curious… for the 6th to last shot… the black and white train station with your Hubs walking across the lobby… what did you do to make the ground feathery like that? Was that a natural occurrence? or digital effect?

Thank you btw for your very thorough email, you answered all my questions!
