Kelly is a very random girl. She likes to:
- Spend hours obsessing over paper products
- Hide in the closet and scare her husband when he walks through the front door.
- Bake cupcakes! Dozens and dozens of glorious cupcakes.
- Stamp and paper craft until her eyes droop and her fingers are numb.
- Drink a cup of steaming hot Peet’s coffee every morning. Through a straw.
Hello, dear readers.
As you’ve already figured out, I’m Kelly. I’m a suburb girl, living in the beautiful city of San Francisco with my husband (Hubs, as I affectionately call him), where summers are nonexistent and the “Sunset district” is the opposite of what its name implies. Although I work in the corporate world, I’ve always loved expressing myself creatively. I am not a artistic person by nature, but over time, I’ve learned to be more creative, thanks to a little perserverance and Google.![]()
Creativity and design can be intimidating, but with the resources available today, I believe that everyone can be creative, not just the pros. I’m passionate about all forms of arts and crafts and I have more hobbies than I can keep up with. TheSunsetHouse.com was started as an outlet to document my creative ventures.
Rubber stamping and paper crafting are my two favorite craft outlets. I love making cards and I post my inventions regularly. I also post tutorials on easy stamping techniques and useful tools. My husband gifted me a DSLR camera and some amazing lenses, supporting me in my photography endeavors. In this blog, I document all the photo taking and post processing tricks that have helped me learn the craft. I’ve also taught myself to use most of Adobe’s programs (Photoshop, Lightroom, InDesign, and Illustrator) from mostly cheap classes and free resources I’ve found online. Baking and cooking are two of my favorite pastimes and I love sharing great recipes. My husband tells that the amount of time I spend in the kitchen is directly correlated to his expanding waist line.![]()
I’m thankful to be living in one of the greatest cities in the world, where I am constantly inspired by amazing, creative people. Thanks for letting me share my life with you!
