Sale-A-Bration, Stampin’ Up’s biggest annual promotion is four only days away and you can bet I already have my order ready. I’m just waiting until Feb. 1st to click “submit” and have my goodies shipped over. I love Sale-A-Bration because it’s SU’s equivalent of the Nordstrom Anniversary sale.

I wanted to post a link to the Sale-A-Bration catalog for those that are planning to order, so you can pick your favorite products too. SU is offering a free product from this catty for each $50 of merchandise in your order (one selection for $50, two selections for $100, and so on). There are six different products to choose from; four stamp sets, a ribbon bundle, and a pack of designer paper. I’ve posted some pics of the products below. Click here to view the full catty. Don’t forget, SU will be giving away a free catalog with every order from Feb. 1st through April 30th (first 22,000 orders), so don’t buy one because ya don’t have to.

Before I go, I just wanted to give everyone a heads up on some awesome Stampin’ Up promotions coming up.

Beginning February 1st and through March 31st, SU is having my most favorite promotion: it’s Sale-A-Bration! Each year, Stampin’ Up releases a handful of limited edition stamps and products that can be earned by customer purchases. Stampers get to choose a set or product from the Sale-A-Bration catalog for each $50 purchase of merchandise. So that’s one free set earned for a $50 purchase, two sets for a $100 purchase, and so on. There’s no limit to the free sets earned. This is all in addition to Stampin’ Up’s great rewards already in place. Do you see why it’s my favorite time of the year?

Along with Sale-A-Bration and beginning on February 1st, Stampin’ Up is also giving away a free idea book/catalog with each order placed online! They usually charge $9.95 for the book, so a freebie is a great deal. The idea book is the same as the one posted online; however it’s much better to have it in hand. It’s a wonderful book that I use to find many of my card ideas. In fact, I just made a wedding card for Saturday’s nuptials based on card in the  atalog. Stampin’ Up will be offering a free Idea Book & Catalog with the first 22,000 orders or until April 30, 2009, whichever comes first.

I saw some sneak peeks of the catalog… Oh. Em. Geeeeee. It is chock-full of soooo many adorable new stamps and accessories! SU also totally expanded their Big Shot collection to include a ton of fabulous new dies, including embosslits (dies that both cut and emboss at the same time).

Eep! I can’t wait to place an order!

Anyway, just wanted to share taht SU just released a list of inventory items that they are selling at up to 50% off. Some of these items were already retired from the previous 2008 Spring/Summer catalog and were brought back to life just for this promotion. Other goodies are scheduled to retire on January 18th. The remaining products are items that will still be active in the next catalog. The full list can be accessed here and the promotion runs until 1/18.

SU’s retiring accessories list was also released yesterday. Among this list are most of the designer paper patterns from the Fall/Winter catalog. I created an excel copy that can be downloaded here. I’ll update the list each day or so to mark the items that are no longer available.

For the stamps scheduled to retire on January 18th, SU will still continue to manufacture them until they fill all the orders they receive through the retirement date. But, unlike the stamps, once the accessories are out of stock, they will no longer be produced and are gone for good. So, if a retiring accessory is unavailable for purchase online, unfortunately it is probably officially gone.

A fresh new year means a fresh new look for The Sunset House!

I have been majorly MIA, but for good reason. My blog received a head-to-toe overhaul. A makeover. New threads. Spring cleaning. The works! I even redesigned my bloggie mascot–the tiny birdie favicon on your browser tab. And, despite the fact that I know next to nothing about CSS, JavaScript, or Adobe Illustrator, I’m content with the way everything turned out. Well, the spacing still looks all funkdafied in different versions of IE (e.g. IE6). If you use something other than Firefox or IE7+, you’re only allowed to check the site through a reader!

I kid.

I’ve just had my fair share of CSS nightmares over the last few days. Semicolons were chasing me in my dreams and pounding me with angry open brackets. I’m done messing with the site for now… or at least until the perfectionist voice inside my head starts nagging me about why I picked a hard-to-read font in my design. I also noticed that this new wordpress theme throws off all the line spacing on my blog when I use happy faces. Grrr. I guess I’ll have to start spelling out all my happy faces. Colon, close parenthesis. (Hmm. Not the same effect.)

After all the WordPress coding headaches, can I tell you how much I appreciate all the computery codey people, out there? It is so stinkin’ annoying, trying to get a site to look the same in IE, Firefox, and the various other billion versions of browsers. Yes, all code people are seriously under appreciated. Thank you for making my online shopping experiences seamless, whether I’m at my computer at work or at home.

At least I learned a few neat tricks in the process, like the image swap when someone does a mouse-over on the links my right sidebar. I also had a chance to test the Wacom Bamboo tablet that Hubs gave me. In fact, I used it to draw the clothesline illustration in my header image. I looooove Adobe Illustrator. I’m no artist, but with that program, I can fake the funk. Hooray for no eraser marks!

Anyway, I hope you like the look! With the hours I spent scouring the internet for coding resources, I haven’t had much crafty time, so I don’t have many new projects to share. I still have quite a bit of blog tweaking to do too, so hopefully the construction dust will be cleaned up soon. Next week, I should be back to my regularly scheduled posting.
